Screw Press Optimization
Enhancing Efficiency and Optimization of Oilseed Screw Press
If the oil yield of your screw press is not meeting your expectations or needs, we are here to offer assistance!
Having over three decades of expertise in operating screw presses for extracting oil from seeds, we can detect process-related concerns and mechanical malfunctions that result in lower oil production and increased solids in the raw oil. Furthermore, we are able to suggest enhancements to the original equipment manufacturer's design in order to enhance the performance of the screw press.
The efficiency of a screw press in extracting oil depends on various factors, including the proper preparation of the raw material. To achieve optimal throughput and oil yield, the raw material must undergo size and moisture reduction. Additionally, raw materials with high protein content need to be cooked before being subjected to screw pressing. The presence of moisture and raw protein in the feedstock decreases the friction coefficient, which hinders the mastication of oil cells and compression of solid material. Mastication is crucial in freeing bound oil, while compression separates the vegetable oil from the solid material. Therefore, preparation is a significant factor in determining the efficiency of a screw press.
